Powerful Partnership Expands Nursing Excellence to the Nation

Starting in January 2026, graduate nursing programs originally developed and offered by Otterbein University, recognized for its excellence in nursing education for more than 45 years, will be delivered fully online and nationwide by Antioch University, expanding access to aspiring healthcare leaders across the country. With the transition of Otterbein’s respected graduate nursing and health professions programs, Antioch aims to foster programmatic growth through collaboration and a shared vision for equity in healthcare.

By transferring its graduate nursing programs to Antioch University, Otterbein sharpens its focus on its prestigious undergraduate bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) program, which prepares nursing professionals to serve in healthcare systems throughout Ohio, filling a critical need.

Antioch University is thrilled to build upon the excellence of the Otterbein University nursing program. Students will not only be prepared to be competent and caring health professionals but also to act in fostering health equity for all humanity.

Elevating Nursing Through a Proven Legacy and a National Network

For decades, Otterbein University’s nursing program has been synonymous with quality, compassion, and clinical excellence. Graduates of its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and its former graduate nursing programs have consistently entered the workforce as confident leaders and skilled professionals, grounded in patient-centered care and equipped to meet the diverse needs of the communities they serve. From immersive simulation labs to clinical rotations in leading hospitals, Otterbein has built a reputation for preparing nurses who are both technically gifted and deeply committed to their patients’ well-being. Otterbein’s graduate programs developed 45 years of advanced practice nursing alumni who are leaders throughout the region and the industry. They are the reason we feel pride knowing that Antioch University will broaden the reach of these exceptional graduate programs across the nation.

Otterbein continues to offer the BSN and our program has the highest average NCLEX score (calculated over the past five years) in central Ohio for first-time test takers. Our faculty are high-quality nurse educators and bring up-to-the-minute experience to their classes as practicing registered nurses.

A Tradition of Nursing Strength, Now with National Reach

This legacy of excellence now carries forward, and expands, through Antioch University’s Graduate School of Nursing and Health Professions. As proud co-founders of the Coalition for the Common Good, Antioch extends Otterbein’s nursing strengths into graduate and doctoral-level education, giving nurses a powerful platform to grow as leaders, advocates, and agents of systemic change. Antioch’s national reach connects students to a network of faculty experts, healthcare partnerships, and learning opportunities across the country.
