As a member of the Coalition for the Common Good, your institution will realize a number of meaningful benefits from the ‘shared’ national graduate and adult learner model. Member schools gain access to a significantly larger set of graduate programs than they could offer on their own. Not only do they have the opportunity to expand the reach of their unique programs through the national infrastructure and expertise of Antioch University, but they also will bring new programs to their local communities.
Antioch University, founded in 1852, began expanding its focus on adult and graduate learners across the country in the 1960s, and developing expertise in low-residency and online programs beginning in the 1990s. Antioch possesses not only the technical infrastructure, but the pedagogical understanding of how to engage students in meaningful educational communities across delivery modalities.
During a time when the value of higher education is increasing questioned, schools have the opportunity to demonstrate their value to their local communities by meeting the workforce development needs of employers and adults looking to expand their career and life opportunities. Additionally, with strong graduate programs in Mental Health Counseling, Nursing and Health Professions, Environmental Studies, Education, and Leadership and Management, institutions will be meeting pressing needs in their communities.
The unique nature of the shared graduate programming — your current graduate programs offered by and as Antioch University — not only means these programs will continue into the future, but also that they will continue to generate revenue for your institution. When a program is transferred, a multiyear calculation is generated that determines the annual net operating margin of that program. This net margin will be paid each year for each program that is transferred, so you do not lose anything when you transfer your programs. Then, each year the CCG splits among its membership 50% of the total net revenue margin of all its programs after all costs are covered and 50% is reinvested into the CCG to fund growth of programs and expansion of the system.
Member institutions can extend their engagement and value to their local community by providing new partnership opportunities with businesses and non-profit organizations. The CCG is able to meet with organizations in your community, complete a needs assessment and propose solutions developed from the faculty expertise of all of the members of the CCG system. Whether creating a professional development seminar, a stackable credential or certificate, offering undergraduate degree completion programs or advanced degrees, the Coalition will expand your ability to meet the needs of your community.
The Coalition, through additional graduate programs, nationally recognized speakers and special interest presentations, provides members with new avenues to engage with their alumni base and serve them over time, truly making them lifelong learners. In the coming years, the Coalition intends to develop a national Jobs Marketplace for all alumni of CCG institutions and professional networks across the country. The opportunities for your alumni will expand exponentially — in breadth and depth.
Your alumni will be eligible for special discounts when enrolling in Antioch graduate programs or unique CCG learning opportunities.
